Joe Hunter
Joe Hunter has been playing piano professionally since 1979, and his versatility has garnered him work with an array of artists. From 1979-82 he attended Cleveland State University. In 1981 he studied in Rio De Janeiro at the Universidade Gamma Filho, which fueled his passion for Brazilian music. From 1992-97 he served on the Conservatory of Music faculty at Capital Univ. in Columbus, Ohio.
Along with having a gig almost every night, Mr. Hunter has recorded and produced two CDs East of the Sun and From This Moment On with bassist Dallas Coffey and drummers Val Kent and Paul Samuels.
Mr. Hunter has performed with many national artists, including Conti Condoli, Tito Puente and Scott Hamilton. He has taught with the Tri-C Jazz Studies Program for several years and is a favorite at many Tri-C JazzFest events. He is a popular performer throughout the greater Cleveland area, including a regular spot at the world-renowned jazz venue Nighttown. Hunter is also a featured player with Ernie Krivda’s Fat Tuesday Big Band. Mr. Hunter lives in Cleveland Heigts, OH with his wife Mary.
